I have had a chance to try out the Seche Vite dry fast top coat for some time now. I’ve used it for all of my manis since I bought it a couple of months ago.
At first I was incredibly amazed by this and although the amazement has faded a bit, I still like it a lot. It dries incredibly fast, it really does!
It has quite a smell that I’m not used to from (most of) my other nail polishes that don’t have a scent, but you get used to it before you’re done applying it to all of your nails.
For me, I can make my manicure last about three days with this top coat, which is not so bad. I’ve experienced some top coats that gives me longer wear without chipping, but I realize that I am quite picky with the way my polish looks and I take it off the second it looks chipped (not counting tip-wear), so other people could probably get more days out of this than I can.
I have noticed that around day 2 or 3 the top coat sort of “cracks” the polish underneath around the edges of the nail. It looks like the polish is about to chip off, but when you run your finger across it, it’s still completely smooth, so it’s just the colored polish that cracks, not the top coat.. I’ve heard other bloggers refer to this as the top coat “shrinking” the polish. I’ve played around with the contrast on the picture to try and show you what I’m talking about, I hope you can tell what I mean even though I didn’t use the best polish to illustrate this because it is an irredescent color and you almost can’t see that there is color beneath that line at the edge of the nail.
The price was 99 kr / 15 USD / 14 EUR / 10 GBP.
Overall, it is a cheap top coat that is above average in quality, so I would buy this again, but there are some better top coats out there, if you ask me.
Have you tried this top coat? What has been your experience with this?
