This nail polish remover by Sally Hansen is the first nail polish remover I’ve had that was from a different brand than my local drugstore’s own brand. I’ve always been very fond of Matas’ own nail polish remover, but when my friend Camilla asked me if I knew of any other removers that were good, I realized I’d never actually tried other ones. Since this was on sale in Matas, I decided this polish remover would be the first I would test out.
Sally Hansen makes two different nail polish removers – the one I bought here and another one which is supposed to be strengthening instead of moisturising.
Now, I mentioned in an earlier post how I was unsure if this contained acetone or not – after reading the ingredients list I can tell you, that this does in fact contain acetone – if you’re not into removers that contain acetone, then this is not for you. If you do on the other hand like the ones with acetone the best, then keep on reading!
I was actually surprised by how good this was! I tried it out with both paper towels and cotton pads and I definitely recommend using cotton pads – it works much better this way.
I even tried removing glitter polish with this the “traditional way” – no soaking, just regular rubbing, and I was actually able to remove it with this. It took a few more rubs than with non-glitter polish, but it worked better than what I’m used to.
As for the promise of moisturising, it is not completely off. I mean, no nail polish remover containing acetone is very moisturising, but I noticed how this wasn’t quite as hard on my nails as the one I usually use. My nails looked fresh and smooth, and if that’s what they mean by “moisturising”, then it does as promised.
The price was good, no complaints there – 49,95 kr / 7 USD / 7 EUR / 5 GBP for 200 ml.
This is a product that I would definitely recommend and buy again.
Uh, thanks! Really really really need a new one! 🙂 I’ll check this out!

I have this too and love it 🙂 Can’t say it’s overly moisturising but definitely the best polish I’ve used at removing varnish very quickly! Karen x

I agree – and it’s also not as hard on your nails as other removers 🙂
