Today’s manicure has three steps that I wanted to show you. I got the inspiration for the final look here.
First of all, I want to show you the base for the nail art BEFORE I did anything else to it.
The base color is Essie – Virgin Snow from the winter 2015 collection with China Glaze – Luxe and Lush on top. I really like this look! It’s subtle and elegant, but still sparkly and pretty. If you wanted to, you could just leave it like that.
Next, I added these heartbeat stickers from the Born Pretty Store. They were on the same sheet as the stickers I used for my gold triangles manicure a little while back. If you want to get these stickers, or something else from the Born Pretty website, you can use the code BOTX31 for 10 % off.
If you do not want to use stickers, you can just freehand the lines, which is what I originally planned to do, back when I pinned the inspirational manicure, but since I had these stickers on hand, I went with them instead, which was probably also much quicker and easier.
I love when flakies are mattifiyed – it always makes them stand out more because there is not any reflection of light coming off of them to confuse the eye. That is why the final step I wanted to show you is the matte version. It might not look like there is much difference in the pictures because I was trying to keep the shiny manicure from reflecting too much light, but the effect in real life is amazing!
This manicure is ideal for a date night, Valentine’s day – or any kind of event – if you’re not into red hearts and kisses nail art. You just have to answer the hard question:
Do you prefer it shiny or matte?
Great valentine’s day idea
