GOODIEBOX is a beauty subscription box. You pay 159 kr ($24) including shipping, and you get 5-8 products with a total value of 6-700 kr ($88-100) ! The subscription box is only available in Denmark, but since a lot of the products are from international brands, I thought maybe you’d be interested in my first impressions of the products even though you cannot get this specific box. For my fellow Danes, you can sign up for this box at www.goodiebox.dk.
The theme for this months box is Energy. I sorta get that, but in my opinion it should be called something more along the lines of Ready for Holiday. When you see the products, you’ll see what I mean.
Kueshi Anticellulite Booster
This is a lotion that claims to be able to combat existing cellulite while preventing the formation of new cellulite (with an added bonus of reducing fat tissue). I haven’t had a chance to try this yet, but I’d love for this to work. I do wish I’d gotten it in last month’s box so I could have used it a couple of times before my holiday tomorrow.
Youth Lab Daily Sunscreen Cream
Like it says in the headline, this is a sunscreen cream with SPF 50. This is going straight in to my suitcase and going on holiday with me! While it is a sunscreen product, it says you should re-apply the product frequently after sweating, swimming or towelling, which suggest that this isn’t waterproof, which is a flaw to me, but we’ll see how well this holds up. The fact that I become red as a lobster if not properly protected from the sun will be a good indicator of its abilities. The cream is rather thick and the consistency reminds me of foundation. It is tinted beige, which suits my skintone, but I couldn’t imagine this being a good fit for everyone. It’s almost like they were aiming for this to also be a substitute for facial makeup. Also, it has a very strong cosmetic-like fragrance.
Eleven Australia Miracle Hair Treatment
This has a LOT of listed benefits that I’m not going to type out here, but you can read all of them on the bottle. If this does as it says, then you’re really getting your money’s worth! However, I’m already not a fan of this after having smelt it. It smells like coconut, which other people might love, but I cannot stand the smell, so I’ll really have to convince myself to use this.. Maybe just once for the sake of a review…
Gosh Mineral Waterproof Eyeshadow 004
This is a creamy eyeshadow stick in a lovely bronze shade. The application is smooth, albeit a little clumpy if you’re not careful. Waterproof makeup is always a hit in the summer, but the color might be a little too dark for my skin tone and preference for summer makeup, so this might be more usable in the fall for me, but a really pretty color.
Naked Lips Aftersun Lip Balm
Another product that’s going straight in to my suitcase. The people who know me, know about my addiction to lip balms, so while I do not need this in terms of keeping my lips hydrated, it is great to have an aftersun product for the lips which you often forget to protect from the sun. This has a very strong citrus smell so if you’re not in to that, you’re going to hate this – you can smell it on your lips.
MYPROTEIN Protein Cookie
This is the only product that fit the theme of the box. It is a healthy(ier) option to eating cookies since this is filled with protein and chia seeds and has less sugar and all that stuff. This supposedly tastes like lemon and white chocolate, but all you taste is lemon. I shared this with my boyfriend, but even between the two of us, we still left half a cookie behind. We did not like this. It is soft and chewy and very sour. I get the idea, and some might like this, but we didn’t – at least not in this flavor.
Do you see why I feel like the proclaimed theme of the box is wrong?
The total value of this box is 619 kr ($91)! That’s awesome! My favorite things in here are the lip balm and sunscreen cream, while my least favorites are the skinny cookie and the hair treatment (based purely on the smell).
