Negative Space Ornaments with DIY ‘vinyl’

I think today’s mani came out really cool, and it was surprisingly easy to do! I know that there are nail vinyls out there with these patterns on them, but I don’t have those, so I did my own version.

I just cut out a circle in a piece of tape, stuck that on the nail and created the ornament pattern by “filling it in” with a striping polish. When you remove the tape, the pattern that you created is going to have a roundness to them that creates the illusion of it being ornaments.

Polishes used

  • Rimmel – Rhythm & Blues (blue base)
  • OPI – Comet in the sky (how pretty is that glitter!?)
  • Striping polishes
