My 10 most used polishes

When you have as many polishes as I do (about 90 at the moment) it is impossible to wear them all equally much! Here is a list of the 10 polishes I’ve used the most

Essie – Fiji

3 coats

This is a very, very light pink that’s almost white. I’ve been using this as a makeshift white because I only just recently got an actual white polish and I this wasn’t as pink as I’d had hoped when I bought, so to get some use out of it I held off buying an actual white. After swatching this, I must admit that it has grown on me and I just might consider wearing it on its own.. Continue reading

Wish list

ønsker januar

  1. I really want to try out Sally Hansen’s new Luxe Lace nail polish collection. In particular the colours eyelet and crochet.
  2. A better way to store my nail polish. I’m not sure if I actually want one of these wall-mount thingies and my boyfriend probably wouldn’t let me, lol, but the drawer I currently keep my polishes in is maxed out and any organizing is no longer possible so it’s just one big cluster you can’t find anything in. Storage ideas are greatly appreciated!!
  3. A tripod for my camera.
  4. Which brings me to the next wish – a video camera. I already have a pretty decent camera, but I would like to be able to film better videos than I have been so far.
  5. I want a new computer eventually. Not that there’s anything wrong with the one I already have, it’s just that I’ve had it for 3 or 4 years now and it’s begun to show its age. I’d kinda like a Macbook, but mainly because of the battery life and because I’ve heard it has good editing software. But I like the operational system of windows computers much better. And they’re more affordable. Oh well, it probably won’t be until I’m done studying and have a higher income than SU.
  6. An external hard drive. I used to back up my files onto my mother’s external hard drive, but I haven’t done it since I moved out over a year ago. It’s probably a good idea to get it done soon.
  7. These jeans! I had this exact pair once, like, a year ago and I wore them so much that I created several holes and once the holes got too big, I had to throw them away BUHUU! I’d like another pair and I don’t even know why I’ve waited so long. They were so comfortable and very flattering. I just have to pull myself together to splurging on clothes. I don’t like spending a lot of money at once because I feel poor afterwards (I’m not, but oh the joys of student life) and jeans can be pretty expensive and it just seems like a lot of money for only one piece of clothing when you could get several shirts for the same price.
  8. A new sofa. We currently have a 2-seated couch from IKEA. That I bought used. It’s comfortable, but I’d like something prettier, newer and bigger. We’d like to get one with a chase now that we’ve got a bigger living room than when we live in a studio apartment. Also, we’re in the process of get things that is not ‘yours’ and ‘mine’ but rather ‘ours’. And stuff that doesn’t necessarily scream ‘IKEA’ (Sorry, Lisbeth)
  9. A new bed. The bed we have now is the one that I got in like the 9th grade. The one my boyfriend had was much much more comfortable, but it was only 120 cm wide which is not enough for me :p The one we have now is 140×200 cm and we’d like one that is 180×220. I like the width and my 204 cm tall boyfriend likes the length. What a huge bed we’ll have!

Over and out, Nanna

20 Blog post ideas

Sometimes it can be difficult to come up with new ideas of what to write. I had that problem before I found a list of ideas, which helped me very much, so I’ve created my own list for you to see! Some of these I thought of myself and some of them I’ve seen elsewhere. The ideas I didn’t create myself I don’t really remember where I found, so I can’t give the proper credit, but some of the ideas are pretty mainstream and can be seen in many places. Here we go:

  1. A tutorial (beauty, DIY, etc.)
  2. Products you’ve both more than once
  3. Products you regret buying
  4. Top 10 nail polishes
  5. A beauty wish list (nail polish, makeup etc.)
  6. A shopping haul
  7. Your morning/evening routine
  8. What’s in your makeup bag?
  9. Empties (products that are so good you used the last drop)
  10. Review of a product you’ve recently tried
  11. Helpful beauty tips (how you shape your eyebrows, paint your nails, apply eyeliner etc.)
  12. Compare two products that are similar and choose your favorite (could be similar in colour but not price)
  13. A contest/giveaway
  14. A recipe of something you love to eat/make
  15. A tag-post for example like the one I did here
  16. A personal story
  17. A review of a book
  18. A review of a movie
  19. Write a post about you resolutions for the new year
  20. Give a shout out to some blogs you like to read!

Things to do this weekend #2

1. Go to the movies
The movie theatre is a good place to go to escape the cold

2. Drink coffee with a friend

It’s getting colder. Grab your scarf and gloves and go to the nearest café with a friend and let a hot beverage keep you warm.

3. Clean your place
Clean all the corners you don’t always go over. Yes, I can be that lazy too.

4. Cook a nice meal
Having a nice meal is not always something you have time for everyday and december is usually even more stressful than the other months, so the weekends are perfect for cooking something a little fancier – maybe there’s a recipe you been wanting to try for a long time?

5. Get ideas for christmas presents

You can always ask people what they want for christmas, but sometimes it’s more fun to be a little creative and come up with something they haven’t thought of yet.

Things to do this weekend

1. Get a head start on the Christmas shopping
It’s always nice not having to stress about it at the last minute. But be careful – being this early might mean that’s it’s easier to find gifts for yourself. NO, wallet – stay inside the purse, I don’t need all of that stuff with my birthday and Christmas coming up.

2. Watch your favorite TV show
I’m currently watching Bones with my boyfriend and Pretty Little Liars on my own. That’s how I’ll spend most of my weekend 😉

3. Put on clean bedsheets.
There’s nothing better than sliding under freshly washed and tumbled bedsheets, is there?

4. Put on a face mask and reshape your eyebrows, shave your legs etc.
Doing all of the beauty things you don’t always have time for doing the week.

5. Read a book just for fun
If you’re a student you know the feeling of always reading something relevant for school – this weekend (or at least some of it) take out the book that has stood unopened on your shelf for far too long.

Enjoy your weekend!

Love, Nanna

Nail Polish wishlist

Starting at the left top corner:

1: OPI – Malaga Wine

I am absolutely loving the wine trend this season! My friend wore this particular nail polish last weekend and I absolutely love the look of it!

2: OPI – Black Cherry Chutney

Blackish purplish redish.. I don’t know how to define it, but I want it! At this time of year when you start to wear black most of the time (just me? oh okay then..) I like how the nail polish sort of matches, but still stands out.

3: OPI – Matte Top Coat

I’ve been wanting a matte top coat for so long, but each time I set myself up to buying it I end up not doing it. If you want a good quality matte top coat you have to pay accordingly, and then I’d rather buy a coloured polish. Oh well, the matte top coat is on my wish list for my birthday, so maybe someone else will buy it for me. Fingers crossed!

4: Essie – Pink Glove Service

A pretty pink – I already have a lot, but this looks less opaque than for example the one I wore for day 11 and therefore different. I know I know, I’m just looking for an excuse for buying more polish.

5: Essie – Shop till I drop

As mentioned on day 2 I don’t have an orange nail polish, mainly because I don’t think they suit me, but this orange is so delicate and pretty. Maybe this will be my first orange polish – who knows?

6: Essie – Pretty in Pink

I’m not really sure why they call this “pink”, to me it looks more like a beige with a hint of pink. But I think this colour of beige would suit my skin tone better than actual beige.

It seems 4, 5 and 6 are pretty similar which is why I put them side by side so you could see that there actually is a bit of a difference. Maybe you wouldn’t need all three of them at the same time, but in the long-term it could be cool having them all.

7: Essie – Watermelon

I saw this nail polish in an ad before the summer and I’ve wanted it ever since! I think it is sooo beautiful and summer-y. I’ve been hesitant to buy it because coral usually doesn’t look too good on me. Maybe next spring

8: China Glaze – Dune our thing

China Glaze, where do I begin? SO many polishes I want! I’m not even gonna try to name them all here, so I’m just mentioning one – for now! raspberry is also one of my favorite colours right now. I don’t know if this is actual raspberry-coloured or more purple. I don’t know, but I like it!

9: China Glaze – Ridge filler base coat

I’ve heard that if you use a matte top coat it shows the imperfections of your nails more and supposedly this base coat helps with that.

Which one is your favorite? And what nail polishes are on YOUR wish list?

Love, Nanna

Packing for a holiday

Now my holiday is not so far away! I’m leaving this sunday for Tunisia. I’m beginning to form a list of what I should bring. I always stress out a little when packing because I’m so afraid of forgetting something (I always call my mom to check if I remembered everything lol). I thought it might be fun to share my list of essentials I almost always pack when going on a sunny holiday. Of course I’ll be going in the fall so the weather might not be as good as in the summer, so I tweaked my list a little accordingly.

I didn’t list all the specific clothes I’m going to bring, as I just pack what I feel like at that moment.

Please let me know if you think I’m missing something essential 🙂
