Friday favourite

I’ve been supervising an exam in high school all day – now I’m ready to just curl up in bed with a book (even though I’ve read more than 300 pages today).

Hello all! Today, I wanted to talk about something that I’ve grown to love lately: the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara.
There are two colors and I have it in the darkest: dark brown. As I mentioned in my eyebrow post I only started actually doing something to my brows a couple of months ago. I’ve tried different things, but I really, really like this brow mascara. It has colored gel which has just the right opacity to shape and define your brows without making them look unnaturally dark. The brush is really great because it has that ball at the end so the area you’re touching is smaller which makes it easier to handle and to make sure you distribute it evenly – without the ball I manage to get it clumpy some places and not opaque enough other places. I like to pair it with an eyebrow pencil and it gives me perfect brows (as perfect as mine can get ;))

I’d definitely recommend this! Big thumbs up!

Have you tried this product or something similar?

I’ve been shopping – again

Yesterday, was the day of tax returns. Yesterday, I “accidentally” looked in my local drugstores catalogue. You do the math. I’ve been shopping again.

One Coat Wonders

Some nail polishes are very pretty, and some are very pretty AND opaque in one coat. I love when you stumble upon one of these polishes, because it makes it much easier to apply and dries much faster. I want to show you a part of my collection and I’ve chosen 6 polishes in my collection that I would call One Coat Wonders.

1. Essie – Mezmerised. This is completely opaque in one coat and the formula is great. Essie Mezmerised

2. Sephora – No. 46 Dangerous. This is actually something in between a one and a two coater. If you put on two coats it does become more opaque, but that covers up some of the beautiful shimmer, so I usually only apply a (very neat) single coat.

3. Essie – The Perfect Cover Up. This is totally opaque in one coat and like the other Essie colour, it has a great formula that makes applying easy.

4. Sally Hansen – Rule of Plum. This is similar to the Sephora polish as one coat shows the most beautiful shine whereas two coats covers it unless in direct sunlight. So for me it is a one coater, but you have to be careful when applying, which might mean that other people would want another coat.

5. Essie – Watermelon. It looks a little more red in these pictures, but as you can see here and here, it is much more pink in real life.

6. Maybelline Color Show – Nearly Black. Because this is a textured polish it covers up the imperfections it might have on the first coat and therefore it is only necessary with one.

Maybelline Color Show: White Splatter swatch

I’ve actually been eyeing this polish a couple of times so I was pretty happy when I got it for christmas. The polish is a part of their street art(ist) collection.

I put in on top of Sally Hansen – Pat on the Black from yesterday and I was very pleasently surprised! I’m not normally into the effect-top coat-thing, but this has me second-guessing that! I looks pretty space-y and it reminds me of grafitti. I’m definitely going to try out the rest of the Street Artist collection after seeing this!

What do you think?
